There are multiple Richard Nelsons who are dentists, even in IA, so I’m not sure if I’m reviewing the right one. The one to whom I am referring had his own practice on Tech Dr in Bettendorf for many years. My whole family started seeing him some time after we moved to the Quad Cities in the mid-to-late 1990’s. Once, after he filled a cavity in one of my teeth on a Friday morning, I started to experience throbbing pain, after the nerve-blocking agent wore off. I tried to cope with it until Monday, but it kept getting worse and worse. I called him on Sunday night around dinner time to tell him about it and maybe get some pain relievers to make it thru the night. He told me to give him some time to finish his dinner and then meet me at his office. When I got there, he performed a root canal on the tooth, using my chest’s assistance as his “tool rest”. Needless to say, I tell everybody about his concern and professionalism. Unfortunately, he sold his practice a few years ago. But he still works part time at Bettendorf Dental on Maplecrest Dr in Bettendorf. I just saw him today after several years and he is still the same thoughtful, caring professional I remember. I only wish he was still practicing full-time.
