Our family had to make that tortuous decision to have our baby put down after being diagnosed and fighting with Cushing Disease. Unfortunately we took her to Eagles Peak Veterinary Clinic in Robesonia. The staff was very considerate of our feelings, the doctor, on the other hand, came into the room and with out even asking what the current situation was with our dog, made a rude comment about how she told us last year that she talked to a ortho doctor and they could have corrected the problem with the dog's legs. It is a much longer story than that but to get to the point, the vet told us that she would inject a muscle relaxant. She then jabbed a needle into the dog's back so hard that she almost jumped off the table. She said that she would be back in a few minutes with the final shot. Our baby slowly faded, her tongue rolled out of her mouth as she fought for her final breaths. The vet came back into the room and administered the fatal shot into her leg although I think our dog had already passed on. It was a horrible experience to witness. This was not the first time that I had a pet euthanized but it was the first time I had to witness such a inhumane way of doing this. Both my wife and myself are devastated over the vet's actions. If you truly love your pet, RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
Dr. Sherbyn Ostrich, VMD has been taking excellent care of our beloved family pets for many years now. What makes him so good? Well, other than the fact that he has saved my parents dogs and our kitties in the past, while other vets were "resting on their laurels," Dr. Ostrich continued to educate himself throughout the years which only served to add to his vast experience and knowledge of animals. He had opened his own animal clinic many years ago called "Cacoosing Animal Hospital" (which, unfortunately, is now owned and operated by the very greedy VCA Hospital who are, trust me, ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!!). During that time, Dr. Ostrich was elected President of the American Veterinary Medical Association and had been away for three years.
Upon recently finding out that he had started "Eagle's Peak Animal Clinic," my husband and I decided to take our cat there for a second opinion regarding a cyst on his tail. VCA Cacoosing Animal Hospital had not surprisingly misdiagnosed him and upon examination, Dr. Ostrich, once again, accurately diagnosed our cats. He treated the cyst and we walked out with our cat in toe knowing he had been in the best of hands! And, for only half the fee which VCA would have charged us.
The next day, I immediately had all four of our cats medical records transferred to Eagle's Peak. I would highly recommend them. Dr. Ostrich is the best!!!
