I started seeing Dr. Shannon Fowl about two years ago when my health was spiraling. I was experiencing hair loss (alopecia), brain fog, rosacea, anxiety, overactive bladder, tight muscles that made sitting painful, joint pain, daily leg cramps (up to 20 a day), chest pain, and severe constipation. Eventually, both Dr. Shannon and my rheumatologist diagnosed me with Rheumatoid Arthritis.
I was terrified—my body was in pain, and I could no longer do the things I loved. My rheumatologist's only solution was medication that would suppress my immune system, possibly cause more issues, and not address the root cause—just mask the symptoms. I knew I wanted a different path.
That’s where Dr. Shannon changed everything. She ran thorough testing and discovered that my autoimmune issues were being triggered by gut damage—likely from antibiotic use—which led to food intolerances and chronic inflammation. I had become reactive to almost every fruit and vegetable. She guided me through eliminating those trigger foods and started me on a targeted gut-healing protocol.
Fast forward to today—I have my life back. I can eat almost everything again, my symptoms have drastically improved, and I feel like myself for the first time in years.
Dr. Shannon didn’t just treat symptoms—she found and healed the cause. My sister had also seen her after being dismissed by multiple doctors, and Dr. Shannon helped her feel better within weeks. That recommendation changed my life, and I’m so grateful I listened.
Choosing naturopathic healing and working with Dr. Shannon Fowl was the best decision I’ve ever made. She is compassionate, thorough, and truly gifted. I don’t say this lightly—she saved my life.
Dr. Shannyn Fowl is a life saver. I started experience health issues in 2022 and complaining to my sister about how I felt. I'm 46 and didn't think I should be feeling this way yet considering I'm 46 but felt like I was 90. My sister was at a gathering when several people starting talking about this naturopathic doctor and it turns out they were all talking about Dr. Shannyn and how much she had helped them all. My sister had been going to the Doctor for a couple of year complaining about pain in her body and all of the doctors told her she was fine and nothing was wrong with her so my sister decided to seek help and found Dr. Fowl, she helped my sister almost immediately and she has been fine ever since, so when I started to have issues my sister recommended I go see her and she has been a game changer for me. I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis by my Rhuemotologist and they weren't helping me at all and just prescribing prednisone for all my inflammation which is horrible for you and put me on 8000$ a month medication which I believe I would pay 20% of that and on top those meds lower your immune system, cause other horrible things and may not even work for you. Dr. Fowl is getting to the root cause of what is going on with me and helping me fix it naturally before I saw her my quality of life was poor, I could no longer do the things I loved like hiking and I constantly worried about my future with work and being active. Its now been several months and my inflammation is way down and I"m back to doing things I love like hiking. I'm so thankful for her and I look forward to seeing her because I know that I'm going to keep getting better.
Dr. Shannyn helped me *immensely* on my path to healing from a histamine intolerance. I was an absolute train wreck--migraines, crushing fatigue, roaming mystery pain, sensitive skin, gut problems... I couldn't eat anything without a problem of some kind.
She validated my issues, which was nice after my primary doctor tried to tell me I was tired because I have 3 kids and that I just have anxiety (I did...but BECAUSE I WAS SICK). Infuriating.
Naturopathic/functional care is a PROCESS...and it's not covered by insurance by and large, but it's your best bet at actually getting to a root cause, and therefore, eventual remission. Shannyn loves what she does, and is a wealth of knowledge.
She answers quick questions on her online portal within a couple of days between appointments, and she uses convenient portals for ordering supplements. You need to be an active part of your healing! Track symptoms, do research, eat and rest well, take those supplements, get therapy, and DO THE LABS!
