I just recently visited for my 1 year checkin to see progress and results. I could not express how professional and courtesy the entire staff, Chris Clark, and Doctor Watkins have been since my consult, surgery, and check ins. I am 110% satisfied with my results, as I did the "strip" procedure and get compliments on how full it is. Doc Watkins and Chris made the process very seamless, educational, and at my pace. I have recommended Washington Medical group to many of my friends and the results have spoken for themselves. I am blessed to have found and worked with their entire team, there is no one better in the business and I am thankful they are located in the DC metro area!! Take time to schedule a consult, even if your are not sure yet, Chris Clark will make you feel very comfortable with options, educate you, and be honest with everything. He was great to work with, and Doctor Watkins is literally the best in the world!
Completed a second procedure on 2/10 To the entire Washington Medical team… well done. Even though I researched a couple of other offices, I knew I’d end up back with you all.
Thanks again. All the best and see you at the follow up.
Washington Medical Hair Clinics is top notch. I would highly recommend to friends and family. Great staff and exceptional customer support. The front and back view is just a week after the procedure. This is the before/bad pix. I will post the after/good pix a year from now when hopefully some of the bald has grown in. Procedure was done 1/14/22
I am a female and always had a high forehead. It was something that bothered me for many years. Nobody ever said anything but to me it was just personal. I did a lot of research talking with different Doctors that provide hair restoration procedures all over the world. It took me a couple of years and a ton of research. When I met with Dr Tattelbaum I felt very confident and comfortable. I went back for another consultation and met with Dr Watkins. They both explained different options and were both consistent. The staff was absolutely amazing. From the moment I walked in to now 11 months after my hair transplant. My results are life changing. I am now going to schedule my second surgery to make my new hairline thicker. If you are a woman looking to address thinning or for me lowering my hairline this is your place. I can’t thank them enough!!!
The following review is for an FUT procedure under the respective care of Business Administrator Christopher Clark and the provider Dr. Frederick Watkins of Washington Medical Hair Clinics (WMHC) located in the Reston, VA office.
Review credentials: A professional with a higher education, practicing at one of the top 10 global firms in the world.
The intent of this review is to encourage WMHC to break their patterns reported for the past decade on various platforms and to end the undermining of their patients mental capacity/competency during the procedure.
Technical details of the procedure: -Quote by administrative staff was 1400 grafts for a < 3" square area -Surgeon removed strip size from ear to ear as quoted for 1400 grafts. -Technicians placed less than 350 grafts; placing thick, double grafts front and center of the hairline and throughout. -Poor, unnatural application of hairline design.
To put it simply- The procedure was akin to Spain's infamous art restoration sculpture that made headlines in November 2020. This was galaxy's away from the skill of a Monet or Rembrandt.
To expand-The design and application of the grafts are performed by travel nurses although the practice advertises as being the only clinic with 4 board certified surgeons performing this procedure.
The artistry of plastic surgery was at the hands of the Owner (Chris Clark) and these travel technicians. Although Chris has years of exposure to the routine procedures, he does not hold any clinical qualifications or credentials.
Consultation, final markups, and follow ups were performed by Chris without any communication with Dr. Watkins. Dr. Watkins surgically sliced the strip for the grafts to be dissected/harvested and placed by the technicians. He did what was minimally necessary to keep me out of pain. There was absolutely no communication between the provider and I to confirm the markups Chris had made, nor at any point prior to the procedure. The staff took liberties with the hairline without any medical agency.
*The first conversation with the provider happened almost 8 months post procedure, after demanding a dialogue with Dr. Watkins regarding the plethora of concerns not limited to what is mentioned above. I shared the results and challenges that were a direct consequence of substandard performance. After multiple attempts to resolve the challenges with Chris and Dr. Watkins, unfortunately - the lack of transparency, consistency, honesty, and moral accountability of the clinic leads me to this devastating review. This is my truth which was undermined and dismissed claiming that the regularly prescribed Diazepam has tendency to cause amnesia where doctor/patient interaction of final markups was "forgotten".
Their defenses were weak and would not stand upon any further review. WMHC's response was focused on a transactional solution for them (which was refused due to the extent of this painfully miserable and undermining process). This translates into providing this public review with the only incentive of limiting the recurrence of the harmful concerns shared.
History of similar issues reported publicly on WMHC date back to 2013, Indicating a pattern of poor performance that has not been addressed or corrected properly. Reputation of WMHC amongst other HT practices reflects the poor history above.
Instead of acknowledging their process was flawed, they questioned my state of mind and faulted me for not speaking out when this took place. It is not a patient's job to oversee or correct the medical staff of a hair clinic that touts itself for having 4 board certified plastic surgeons in the practice. As a patient, we trust providers to take care of us with basic standards - as they are the ones with the training and experience to do so.
I recently had Dr. Frederick Watkins (and his team) perform hair transplant surgery for me; the experience was great! I first spoke with Patrick R., he clearly explained the types of transplants that exist, the process, pricing and more. After deciding to move forward, he also assisted me in setting up the appointment. As an out of state resident, I traveled to DC the day before the surgery - I was at their office at 8:30am the day of my surgery and left ~4:30pm. The procedure itself started ~9:15am. It was a relatively painless procedure; you can feel the first two shots, but the pain is very minimal. And the recovery was relatively immediate (I simply took one pain pill when I got home, then rested for a few days in DC before returning home). Unfortunately, they do have to give you a "haircut" and you can see where the hairs were planted so it'll take a couple weeks before I go out in public without wearing a hat or hoodie. For anyone interested, I'd highly recommend Washington Medical-- very professional and friendly team.
I had my transplant done here this has been the worse experience they where bad on the follow ups my results where slime so im left with big scar that gets ask about all the time they just want your money haven't had one called back since I complain about my results in this embarrassing scar
Washington Medical was the best choice for me. I met with several hair clinics and chose to have my strip surgery here. The results are incredible. The Dr and his team were nothing short of amazing.
So happy I made the decision to choose Washington Medical Hair Clinic’s. After 9 months I can already see a major difference in my hair line. The Plastic Surgeon and entire staff are amazing. The attention to detail and follow up was nothing short of amazing. I am already contemplating even another procedure to possibly lower my hair line just a little more. Check them out.
