Do NOT use this doctor. To call him a medical professional is a joke. My elderly father was taken in for a diagnostic colonoscopy and endoscopy on 10/4/13. After the procedure, he explained that he removed one of the largest polyps he had ever seen, but that everything went "fine." Coming out, dad was in terrible pain. They said it was just gas and sent him home. The next day - at the ER from bad pains. Said it was gas and sent us home. 2 days later 10/7/13, we're back at the ER and they found a severely ruptured colon. Immediate emergency illeostomy. They removed part of his intestine and fit him with an ostomy bag. The surgeon said they also found his gall bladder cauterized to the liver and had to remove it as well. Due to his age, dad never recovered. We fought infection, dehydration, and rapid cognitive decline for the next two months. He died from this colonoscopy procedure on 12/8/13. Bailey should have weighed the risks of removing such a large polyp in an elderly patient and consulted the family of the higher risks. If a polyp is so large that it impresses a GI doc, maybe a different sugical option or treatment/non-treatment should be considered??
