I agree with other remarks as they have whited them out. Betty Russell is a big joke tom this town. We need more experienced people who do their job. She is unprofessional and will always side with the person hiring her. She does not use correct tactics with your children. She actually poisons their mind. If you want your child hurt instead of helped use her, she will destroy them. If you leave your e-mail she will use you against the children again. She seems to have a big chip on her shoulder again other people. She also will throw up to your face what you pay her. I refuse for her to use any more against us.

Betty was the first therapist to help me understand how I felt about my situation. Other therapists listened but didn’t challenge or ask me to elaborate- to draw (literally) how I felt. That moment changes my life. Her way of educating in combination with listening and challenging changed my life. In all honesty, she saved my life by offering me the self-talk I needed when I felt like I didn’t deserve to exist.
I know that not every therapist is right for every person. But I will tell you that if you are open to being educated and to being pushed a bit, Betty Russell could help you the way she helped me.

On August 18, 2011 the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board re-opened a Investigation into complaints made against Betty Russell for possible violations. This investigation was re-opened by Richard Ferriss, Ethics Director at North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board.

On October 8, 2010 the North Carolina Marriage and Family Therapy Licensure Board started an investigation into complaints against Betty Wright Russell, LMFT. This investigation was opend by Wanda R. Nicholson, Executive Director of North Carolina Marriage and Family Therapy Licensure Board.
