Our daughter's Border Collie was dry drowning a couple years ago. Called our vet, Parkdale Animal Hospital, and was told the on call vet would call us back.
Dr. Westheimer is only 2.5 miles from our house. Called, he said come ASAP, and saved Scout's life within minutes of him dying. Scout spent the night, Dawn came in at 1 am to check on him, and he was good to go in the morning.
Meanwhile, about an hour after my emergency call to our vet, the on-call called back. I said forget about it. They take their own sweet time and we did not appreciate it. Bye, Bye to them.
