I chose Dr. Goss to put my favorite old mare down recently. He had worked on one of my babies the year before and came highly recommended by colleagues in the industry. I was not disappointed. In what was the worst loss I have suffered in life, thus far, Dr. Goss was kind, compassionate, patient and careful. In my final desperate attempt to "fix" my mare, he patiently walked me through all of my questions, reassuring me that I was making the "right" decision. He was careful with my mare, and you could tell by the look in his eyes that he cared deeply and was truly saddened this burden. He did not rush me during my last good-bye. I am sincerely grateful to him for making a tragic event, a little less tragic. His staff continued to impress me, even months later. They did not charge me for the sedation, they sent me a beautiful sympathy card signed by their entire staff and topped all that off with a donation to the Equine Memorial Fund at UC Davis. Words can't even express my gratitude for their kindness and compassion.
