I took all my animals from kitten/puppy until they have passed away every time I took them there. They treated my animals like they were their animals. They told how to handle the animals when trimming nails and what to expect in the future if the animal is old and what to look out for. They told me if I have any questions to call and the answer me within 24-48 hour. I always tell my friends to take their pets there that they will treat them right and never over priced.

Called to make an appointment for a new puppy only 8 weeks old. Would like to have her seen, even if it meant waiting a few weeks. (Due to Covid I get things are taking a little longer) I have never been so off put before. They were cold. Told me she needs her shot all but now. And I should find somewhere else to go. Who says that. I can. Accept if I would have been told due to a booked schedule we are not currently accepting new clients...okay I get it. But that was never said. They pretty much didn’t want to deal with me and my ew addition. A shame because I heard such great things about Bookside in Orwigsburg. I would have taken an appointment a few weeks out. But I guess they are not accepting new clients 😔

Very caring and great, reliable, dependable veternarians. Do everything possible to meet your dog and cats needs. Very Knowledgable. Pleasant and understanding. So happy we taken our dog and kitties to Brookside

About three years ago I had two cats. The one cat got sick and started peeing all over my house. I took it Brookside as that was only five minutes from my house. After many treatments and surgeries nothing they did helped, I would have an appointment and they would escort me off into the exam room and all my visits started out with 30-45 minute waits behind closed doors of the exam with them leaving nothing to read or look at, but blank white walls for long periods of time. So I certainly wasn't important to them. Needles to say I had to get rid of the cat as anything they tried didn't work, I think they eventually gave up. Now onto my second cat as it got sick I took it to Brookside and of course I got the same kind of treatment with short answers to my questions and was given the attitude like they don't want to be bothered with me, needles to say my cat died. Now fast forward three years we got a dog and I have been taking it to Mountain Shadow veterinary hospital and I really like that place. Yes it's a lot farther of a drive for me at 25 minutes to get there as I drive right past Brookside, but I'm not going to let my dogs health suffer. Just today I had to make a really short notice appointment and they squeezed me in within a few hours. I was in and out in about 30 minutes with the vet sitting down with me for about 20 minutes giving me great details about the health of my dog. They also listened to me and answered my questions with great detail, Wow that's awesome. At Brookside I would still be waiting in the exam room. Brookside didn't care about my time or me or my pet for that matter, but they certainly cared about getting my money. It's definitely worth it to drive farther right past Brookside to get much better health care for the newest addition to our family.
