I am a winter Texan. My vet is in another state. Tuesday night my 17 year old mixed breed had a stroke and was suffering tremendously. I called Companion Animal Hospital which was listed as an emergency vet service. Even though I pleaded, the answering service refused to contact a vet because they "had orders not to call unless the animal was one of their current patients." The next morning I called Companion to see if they were open. I told the receptionist my dog was suffering and needed to be put down. She said I'm sorry, but the doctors are doing surgery this morning. It would have taken less than 10 minutes to take care of my dog.
I called Boca Chica and was told to bring her in immediately. Someone helped to carry her in and she was the first patient Dr. Head tended to. In less than 10 minutes my dog was no longer suffering. Dr. Head and his staff treated my dog and me with a lot of compassion. He is the type of vet I want--one that cares more about the animal and shows it. The cost of his service was very reasonable. I would recommend him to anyone.
