The worst veternarian I have ever been too. I urge you to take your animal somewhere else.

I started taking my cat Mokie to Dr. Scherr in 2011 for an ear problem. Mokie had an excessive amount of black/waxy buildup in his left ear only. Dr. Scherr determined it was an allergic reaction to the food that he was eating. He did no tests, no bloodwork. I believed him, and changed his food and gave him the analgesics provided. I took Mokie back at least 4 times in the next two years. All for the same condition. His ear did not get better. I should have sought a second opinion, and that is my fault. At no time did he ever do any bloodwork on Mokie.

In August 2013, Mokie developed a tumor on his neck. The same side of the ear infection. I took him to Dr. Scherr once again. He said he needed surgery. He didn't know what the tumor was. He told me nothing other than that Mokie needed surgery. I initially refused because I had no idea what was going on, but eventually had the surgery done. The tumor was removed and it came back malignant and metastatic. Meaning it had already spread throughout Mokie's bloodstream. There was no hope for recovery.

I finally took Mokie to another vet. This vet confirmed that there was no hope. He said that a prolonged infection could cause cancer to develop. He also said that allergic reactions can not only happen to one ear. Allergies are always symmetrical. Sadly, I had to put Mokie to sleep within 2 months of finding the tumor.

Dr. Scherr was wrong in his diagnosis of my cat, and he never explored any options that it could be anything else other than an "allergy". Dr. Scherr is confusing in his bedside manner. He likes to use big words to sound smart, but his results prove he is anything but smart.

If you love your animal, please take them to another vet. I also just recieved an additional bill for $260, one year after the surgery. Even though I paid every bill in full. They don't even know how to keep track of their billing.

They made the extra effort to make sure every question and concern I had was addressed. I'm absolutely going to recommend them to everyone I know. They were very sympathetic to my situation, and made me feel cared for. I knew that I could count on them at all times. Their office was well organized and clean. I could tell they took a lot of time making sure it was presentable. They always return my phone calls quickly. I always know that I'll get a prompt answer to my question. They do not stock the prescription food, so you have to call before wednesday to order otherwise you have to wait one more week, this is the only draw back, Not bad!

I'll definitely be going back. I didn't have a bad experience. They answered my questions and I didn't feel like they were trying to rush my appointment at all. I was finished in less than an hour!

Absolutely not! I was seen right away!
