I have been to this clinic many times, both with my pets and those of others. I have also called them numerous times to inquire about situations and see if they could wait until the next morning or needed to be attended to at once. They have never been anything but helpful to me and I cannot say a bad thing about them - only good, good, good. They helped a friend who discovered a pet in sudden dire straights, and plainly and clearly described the options for the decision that had to be made. They also helped me on one occasion with a non-emergency situation that was rather gross and awkward, something I felt was above and beyond.
Please bear in mind a few things when it comes to an emergency clinic. First, they typically deal day in and day out with tough cases. Likely the only exception to non-dire cases that they get to see are folks with little to no money, which is not much of a break from the sadness of dealing with sick or injured animals all the time. They either see sick or injured animals or those owned by folks who cannot pay. Plus, those folks without much cash are pleading for help with the money situation. I know for a fact that the clinic does plenty of charitable work for free or at a reduced price, however, they cannot do everything for free or at a reduced price. If they did, they would no longer be able to stay in business, and then where would we all go when we have an emergency after our regular vet's hours?
The emergency clinic serves a need for Lewiston Auburn that not many years ago went unfilled. No, they don't do it for free or for dirt cheap or offer payments plans, but they do care for pets and care for them very well and as an owner, I can certify that they have always been kind, helpful, informed, and pleasant to me as well as anyone else I have gone there with.
