First time I went to therapy. Hard to share my problems, but Dr. Poyner really helped.

I've gone to several psychologists. Dr. Poyner finally met my needs. The others tried, but they just weren't right for me. She is kind and skilled.

This doctor is all about being dismissive. She was very quick to ignore all input. If this horrible bedside manner was not bad enough, I have severe doubts about her competency. I am not a doctor, but she is not a good doctor. I'm smart enough to realize that first impressions (especially with children) are critical for a good doctor/client relationship; however, she seemed confused as to why a child would not talk to her after humiliating her on the first visit before building trust. Seems like psychology 001 (common sense) to me. A doctor does not have to take input and opinions from parents as fact; however, they should never dismiss the criteria completely. I highly encourage people to find a doctor that actually cares about patients and families.

I found my experience a failed one and would advise others to avoid Dr. Poyner. She failed to truly help my son and my family is in a worse place after her "help" than before. Going to her was one of the grandest mistakes I have ever made, and I don't know if I'll ever get my family back--lost time and energy. Run away, find another therapist, do not get yourself caught in the quagmire she led us to and then abandoned us in!!

This is the most horrible place to do business with. After being treated like I could not afford the services in which I had insurance to cover, I did not see the sign of bad business and proceeded with allowing them to do his evaluation. The entire front office staff was rude and unpleasant. They sent the balance of my bill to the wrong address and threatened me with having to pay it before I scheduled his next appointment. I paid the bill on the spot over the phone and they still continued to act totally rude. I went ahead and let them do the evaluation on my son on 12/5 and did not receive a report until 1/31 two months later. I will also say that I had to call the office two to three weeks later and ask where the report was. They had the evaluator call me back and briefly let me know what seemed to be, nothing for sure. She ensured me that I would have a report within the next week. I was content at this point but again, I did not receive the report until February due to it being sent 1/31. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! Psychological evaluations are to be taken seriously especially on our children, go somewhere that they will take it serious.

I was scheduled right away for my appointment. The staff is always very professional and friendly. My therapist listens to me and makes me feel comfortable to where I feel that I'm talking to a close friend. The office is also very nice and clean. I recommend this office to my family and friends.
