Most are referred by court or welfare and you get what you pay for ! Poor service, dingy, very opinionated . They only help on a superficial level . There are a couple good counselors but they are constrained by facility.. In a private practice, they would be good to go to.. Constant interruptions, phone calls, and inattention from provider. For an hour, you might get 20 minutes of therapy . Unless this is the only place you can go/ insurance , low income, or other, you will get better service going somewhere else . They do not like to prescribe anything not on "their" approved list . The psychiatrist I had for evaluation was nice-- one woman was good but had to do as told by service facility . There are other there that are impossible to deal with..Be careful what you say - they love to misinterpret what you tell them.
