I was sent to Estella as a teenager with C-PTSD due to abuse in my family and being the identified patient in the family system. Instead of helping me, she focused on invalidated my experience and emotions and reinforced the idea that I, as the child, was responsible for my family’s problems and treatment of me. I became suicidal and she then pushed my parents to send me to a private institution which used attack therapy and coercive persuasion to change me into something which made my family more comfortable, in which I was more "controllable." The place has since been shut down for child abuse. There’s a book called “Help at Any Cost” which describes in detail what took place there. I permanently dissociated after being sent to this place, my C-PTSD progressed into DDNOS. I’ve been in true treatment now for 15 years for my dissociative symptoms, due to Estella’s serious malpractice. Some of her negligent advices include: telling me at 15 to sue classmates for defamation when I told her I was being bullied, buying me cookies and popcorn rather than providing a professional therapy session, and telling me to read the book “7 Habits of Effective Teens” rather than addressing the problem of the emotional and physical abuse that was happening at home. Please think twice about who you or your children see for therapy
