Dr. Kelley is an honorable, straight up wise and seriously good fellow. I was in counseling with him for almost a year. He is very respectful of women and an open minded super intelligent guy who i would trust in every way with confidentiality and personal integrity. He respects the rights of anyone to try to go it without meds and encourages and supports without judging or giving directions. An excellent and compassionate listener. I had a kind and warm relationship with him where we shared high humor and the very depths of despair.
I needed more actual practical guidance than he could really give, sometimes he could be stubborn in his opinions and would not really take in what i tried to tell him about matters he had previously formed an ideation around. He could not help me with social or trauma related issues though he clearly for the world wanted me to get better.
I miss him as a person and wish we could have been friends or colleagues,but the iron ceiling between a client and therapist prevent natural further flourishing discussions of current concerns, books and culture. He could provide healing where abuse by males is an issue but his understanding is primarily intellectual rather than emotional.
I miss his great heart and mind in the areas where he shined.
