My first visit with Dr Hood is this coming Monday. I wanted t comment on his gentle manner and empathetic way he dealt with me on our first call. I am a disabled vet trying to utilize the "new" Congressionally approved "VETS CHOICE" program so I do not have to trave; 90 some miles round trip to Mt. Home, TN. The Vet Choice program is not functioning very well with civilian MDs having difficult times working with the "broken bureaucracy" known as the VA Administration. I have had my first negative experience re laser eye surgury, a terriuble waste of MDs time but after enormous painful on my part the "VET CHOICE finally approved that prcedure. The Vet Choice" called me this am and after 3 months waiting they gave me Dr Hoods name and number, Dr Hood advised me that he has had some dificulty getting paid for approved Vet Choice services. I am now approved for 52 visits with Dr Hood. I will be extremely upset should he have an iota of problems getting compensated as he endeavors to get me qualified for my PTSD service cconnected disability, something the VA "rating" bureau declined me for a clearly service connected PTSD disability.
Please consider DrHood for your mental health and well being needs!
