After 11 years of therapy with Michael, he ignored me at my last group and refused to say good bye since he disagreed with me ending therapy. In my experience it was cult like, no one leaves. My husband was in therapy as well, 2x per week for 12 years. We both exited with a 2 week notice and both ignored by Michael.

I have been one of Michael's patients for over 5 years and I am thankful everyday. I was lost and detached; pushing down "negative" feelings and letting them pop up in destructive ways later on. Of course, I thought I was so tough and so put together. I just couldn't figure out why I was always alone. Well, Michael saw right through me. Michael understood me before I understood myself. He is an amazing clinician, Not only can he see the real you through whatever the facade, he is truly dedicated to his patients' progression. I have evolved and continue to evolve because of him. Michael challenges me to dig deep into my unconscious intentions and explore all the different parts of myself---flaws and all. In fact, he embraces what I used to see as flaws. All my feelings and behaviors have a wisdom that we examine together. Michael creates a safe space to learn more about who I am. He has rightfully earned the trust and love of his patients. I feel blessed to have him in my life. He was a godsend.

I have been a patient of Michael’s for nearly two years and cannot thank him enough for turning my life around. I was depressed, disconnected, had no sense of purpose, and my marriage was falling apart. Michael provided accurate feedback about myself, alternative perspectives, and practical solutions to my situation. His expert knowledge, silly humor, and genuine concern really helped me face and work through issues from childhood. Because of him, I have regained my self-confidence, am pursuing a career I love, and feel more alive than ever before. Michael is an exceptional therapist who deeply cares for his patients and will offer his assistance whenever needed. I am so grateful for this brilliant loving man who inspires me, is a role model, and a guide for self-transformation. Thank you Michael!

I am a LCSW and Michael Fischman, LCSW-R is a close colleague of mine. I have never met a more dedicated, compassionate, and talented clinician. Several of his patients have reported to me how grateful they are to be working with him and how much their relationships and overall health have improved. Michael Fischman is a fantastic therapist and I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking to improve their mental health.

I have been working with Michael for over 4 and a half years. I see Michael for both individual and in group therapy sessions that he leads. Michael is exceedingly engaging. A well credentialed psychiatrist put it best; he described Michael as the hardest working talk therapist he knows. This doctor lamented too many times he sees that analysts will just watch the clock, and let a patient get away with the pathologies that are holding them back. Michael is engaged in every single session he holds. With Michael, you first identify the goals that you want to achieve. Then Michael will guide you to these goals that you expressed. Michael’s therapy environment is not a theoretical one, it is very present and direct. For example, one of my goals was to lose weight, and working with Michael I have lost over 120 pounds, and now our goal is to keep it off. Loneliness and an inability to connect is a significant part of my issues with food. So for me the work is in sessions is to observe and discuss how I am struggling to make such meaningful emotional connections in that exact moment with Michael and other group members. As we do this, I am building a sense within myself how I can emotionally connect with anyone. It is an active reflection and expression of feelings so that we (Micheal, the groups and I) can directly work on the issues that hinder me from reaching my goals. The best part about working with Michael is simply the fact that Michael will present you with a mirror of yourself. You will start to see yourself and your pathologies differently (and sometimes for the first time) Now, if you’ve been with any good therapist, you know this is not always a pleasant experience (note: consider this if you ever read a negative review). It is easy to want to coast, or fall back into horrible patterns that keep you from your goals. The great gift that Michael gives each of his patients is the dedication to keep working you through your own issues and towards your goal. Michael will always be honest with you, and will be tough on you when it is required, but most of all he will fight for you.

Been working with Michael for 2 years and wanted o express some gratitude for this very kind, humerous and loving man who helped me through a tormenting depression and helped me to understand the cause and so I now know why I was depressed and will forever know this reason and therefore never be depressed as I was before. Thank you for the freedom.

Found this site and wanted to say something to express my graditute for the help I received from Michael. I've been working with him for over 3 years whereby he helped me save a failing marriage. Michael helped me understand that my frequent use of alcohol and weed contributed to the fighting that went on with me and my boyfriend. I am now completely sober, a new mother and our marriage is loving. We also did couples work. So, I am grateful for the help received and recommend this therapist without hesitation.

I worked with Michael for just over two years and found his caring, challenging (in a good way), and no-nonsense approach incredibly helpful and eye-opening. Michael works on a deep, almost spiritual level – he will push you to work through issues using emotion. He takes immense pride in his work and it certainly shows. Highly endorsed!
