Dr Pat Fennelly, always insisted on my paying her first before any words were spoken. When I came to her office in a state of complete melt down, sobbing and shaking, she would not speak to me until I had written out her check and made another appointment despite my sobbing statement that I didn't feel capable of writing her check in my current state of extreme distress. In a reply letter to my written request for an explanation of my 2 years of therapy with her, she stated that she was treating me for " back pain" . There was never any mention of my seeking treatment for this complaint. The written e- mail sent to Dr. Fennelly, from my primary therapist, clearly stated I was referred to her for E.M.D.R. Sessions to help with my extreme anxiety. After seeing Dr Fennelly for 2 years for a complaint that I had no idea she thought she was treating me, I told her I wanted to end therapy with her. She repeatedly insisted that I continue to schedule appointments with her. I was too frightened to challenge her authority. I was a private paying client. I saw Dr Fennelly for a total of 69 sessions, and spent $7500.00 out of pocket for a problem which I nor my primary therapist ever requested treatment for.
