At first he was very kind and understanding. After more visits he became abrasive and harsh. When I did not agree with the plan he was putting into place for my son we seemed to clash. He would tell me things like "I dont know what to tell you anymore. Obviously we are not on the same page." My son would then be afraid to speak with him because he said "he always makes me feel bad about myself." Then the icing on the cake came when he literally raised his voice and was extremely rude to my son's IEP team and basically told them they have no idea what they are doing. My son is doing much better now. But no thanks to Ira. He was traumatized by him. And, quite frankly, so was I.

I visited him for a few months several years ago. He listens well and does not seem to have tunnel vision in his clinical approach. He is a nice, helpful, understanding guy. He is serious about his work/profession. He is not distant, aloof. he is engaged, looks client in face, tries to get to the bottom of patient's problems. He lied about having a PH.D. He also may not be board certified. He has lots of experience and a Master's in Social Work as well as, of course, a license. He is Jewish. He seems to be about in his early to mid fifties. Almost a year ago, he told me that he is not accepting new patients. I have a different insurance now. He does not seem to be on my PPO insurance network of providers list. I prefer my current insurance, including current providers list.
