I would give zero stars if possible. Received a bill for a test I specifically told them I did not want done if my insurance was not going to cover it. I did not sign any of the at least 3 authorization forms required. It was a $95 test. Now 2 months later I receive a bill for $2,001.00. Although, the person on the phone confirmed that I did not sign forms, says I still owe the money. Needless to say I will not be returning.

I have had one experience with BHCA in which I was attempting to deal with severe depression and thoughts of suicide. It took so much effort on my part just to seek out help and admit that I was having serious issues. I picked BHCA based on their website and what they supposedly specialized in. After a brief 15 minute wait I was greeted by an Advanced Practice Nurse that listened to my situation and took notes. We spent about 30 minutes digging into why I was there, what I wanted to accomplish and a bit on causality. It was a reasonable interview and touched upon a lot of key components of my depression. The APN helped alleviate my fears of seeking help. Once completed the APN called in the owner / director for a consult. All the positive things that occured with the APN where shattered within minutes of Dr. Blaise Wolfrum entering the room. He treated me with disdain and condescension. His flippant comments and lack of concern is truly troubling for a person supposedly in the profession of helping troubled people. His first comment "why are you depressed when others have it worse than you" was a stinging slap across the face and set the tone for the rest of the time with him. I was stunned that depression was a competition with him. When I described my plans for suicide he ridiculed me. When I expressed guilt for not being around when a loved one died he continued with "Why? Did you give her cancer?" Apparently Dr. Wolfrum is an advocate of tough love therapy. This man's attitude and and condemnation might motivate someone training for a marathon but has no place in the treatment of people who are in need of support and guidance. Dr. Wolfrum asked if I was on drugs to which I responded that I wasn't. He didn't believe me and requested I take a drug test. When it came back clean, he replied " I guess you were telling the truth". I walked out after that, nearly in tears. After spending months trying to muster the strength to get help I could not believe how I was being treated. On a lesser note the reception staff was absentminded and painfully slow. When I called for an appointment I was put on hold several times and had to remind the person several times why I was calling. Total time to make an appointment was nearly 50 total minutes, mostly on hold. That should have been a red flag, but at this point I was committed to get help, and I should not judge a professional services organization like BHCA on the receptionists performance. There are a number of professionals at BHCA and I can't comment on all of them. However, if they take their guidance from the owner / director Dr. Wolfrum, people would be better suited looking for another place for treatment. I would not recommend this organization to anyone looking for compassion or a caring attitude. My impression was that this is just a business looking to prey on the depressed and bill them for as much as they could with little regard for their well being.

Pro's: Location, cozy environment, Nurse and initial interview were positive and supportive.

Cons: Dr. Wolfrum. The man should not be dealing directly with patients; Billing patients for unnecessary drug tests; long hold times to make appointment.

The provider at this facility was excellent. However, the provider is leaving the practice. I am not surprised, as the office staff was unbelievably frustrating to deal with. They "lost" one of my appointments, forgot to tell the provider that I had arrived, so I sat around the waiting room and she thought I was a "no show". When she finally saw me, she was horrified that they forgot about me. I called to confirm my next appointment (which I have learned is a requirement with these people) and I was told that my appointment was no longer on the books because the provider was leaving the practice. I asked them if anyone was going to call me and let me know. They probably sensed my annoyance. Yesterday, I got a voicemail from someone informing me (and giggling through her entire message) that my therapist was gone, but I could come see "the new one". NO THANK YOU. This place is the worst. No wonder your good doctor is leaving.
