About 2 years ago I had a real bad case of pneumonia, I went to a different hospital first (United General in Sedro Woolley). They stabilized me and then they transferred me to St. Joseph's. I was there for 3 weeks and got the best care ever. The nurses are Great and the Doctors are to.

They suck! I brought in my 15 year old daughter after she fainted and smacked her head on our hard floor. The rude obnoxious overbearing ass of an ER doctor blew us off. They were not able to diagnose her properly that she had a concussion. The next day she fainted again. And on the third day she was incoherent during a follow up at the pediatrician's office. The pediatrician told me to bring her into the ER immediately. As luck would have it, the second ER is even more of an ass than the first one. That jerk told my scared daughter that this was just in her head, and that she was starting to manifest mental illness. What a jerk! I told him that she has never behaved that way, and that this was the first time she has ever fainted. He told me that it doesn't matter, it's mental illness and will likely continue like this. My daughter was worried. Those jackwads are clueless! She had a fricking concussion! So now thanks to those clueless insensitive assholes, my daughter is seeing a counselor to reassure her. The counselor informed us that she's a well adjusted teenager. Those ER "doctors" were out of line! DO NOT GO THERE unless you're dying.

I had no problems with any of the other staff.

I don't know what it is but we seemed to be marked every time we visit St.Joseph Hospital or Peach Health medical. My husband suffers from chronic pain/fibro/ms. About a month ago took him to hospital due to stroke/seizer like symptoms...was asked if we were there on detox or there for nercoctics I was very offended. When he asked for something for the pain..we sat in hospital for over 3 hrs. And it wasn't until we said we were leaving that they did something for the pain. Left the hospital/doctors office with no answers Instead pawned to other doctors...will not ever go there again unless I am on my death bed!!

PATHETIC: I am writing this review because along w/the pharmaceutical companies, St. Joseph's hospital in Bellingham, WA has sold out to the money gods just as Big Pharma has. I doubt this will even be posted. I know for fact that the majority of patients, especially those who're unlucky enough to have health-related issues during off-business hours & have no-other choice but to go to emergency, have negative experiences here; hence negative reviews. I've had my own horrible tick-tocks at PeaceHealth St. Joseph's Hospital, but I'm writing not for myself but for my brother: he had an abscess tooth. Half of his face was so swollen that he literally reminded me of a pig. I took photos, it was that bad. He was driven to this place that somehow is called a hospital, let alone actually is allowed to be one. He waited in the waiting room for a very-long time. Once he was sent back to see a physician, he was understandably pissed off & let the doctor know how he felt. He didn't cuss, direct his anger at the physician, just asked why he had to wait for four-plus hours in the waiting room w/out being offered an Ibuprofen. The doctor simply mummered "Hmm...", & walked out of the curtained room. My brother, in the end, received a script for some antibiotics. He did not get anything for pain (& believe you/me, he hates having to visit the doctor's & wouldn't have gone had he not been in severe pain); not even Ibuprofen! He didn't ask for any opioid analgesics & you know the next sentence, he wasn't offered any - not even something light but effective like Vicodin! When he returned home, I was so enraged that I called the hospital & complained to no avail. I could easily tell that they've dealt w/& still are dealing w/customer after customer, calling to complain about their lack of empathy & treating everyone as though they're "drug seekers". Pull your head out of where ever you have it PeaceHealth St. Joseph's hospital: everyone I know in Bellingham practically has a bad experience story to tell re: themselves or a loved one. If I had a dollar for every time I've heard someone say, "drive down to Sedro Woolly, they actually listen, don't judge & care about their patients...", I'd be very, very wealthy!

After sitting slumped over in a wheelchair for over 2 hours my boyfriend and I were assaulted in the waiting room of the ER at st. Joes. A drunk lady with a cut hand was dripping blood all over the floor, swearing and talking trash to strangers. When she walked past my Boyfriend she held her bloody rag in front of him and wiped it down the front of his shirt..I AM NOT LYING....the staff was VERY unhelpful and we practically had to beg them to call the. Police because she basically assaulted us with her blood. AVOID THIS ER AT ALL COSTS because you may succumb to your injuries right there in the waiting room while you wait....drive to ferndale or skagit because Bellingham doesn't give a damn about their "customers"
