I am appalled. My son was admitted with aggression issues. He was violent with me, depressed and clearly a threat to himself and others. After spending hours on the phone with Four Winds & his therapist, we agreed to admit him voluntarily. At first, things seemed ok. But then, when we saw him, he was dazed and confused, then very affectionate, then inappropriate, then aggressive as though nothing had changed. Since that was the last impression during the visit, I received a call from them that they were DISCHARGING HIM. He clearly wasn't stabilized - on his meds or in his mood - was CLEARLY still an imminent threat at home, and despite speaking with the Powers That Be there, they still seemed rather intent on discharging him - even after I insisted they speak to the social worker THEY called at CPS and hadn't. Did I neglect to mention my son was beaten up AT THE NURSE'S STATION by an admitted VIOLENT PSYCHOTIC?! And then, within 48 hours, not only was the psychotic released BACK into the population, WITHOUT 1-1 SUPERVISION AS WAS PROMISED, but he was allowed to interact DIRECTLY with my son privately, DESPITE WHAT WAS PROMISED BY THE SUPERVISORS & STAFF!!!!! I am terrified of what is going to be released back into my care!
