The point of a "mobile" podiatrist is to come into an individual's home. I would think that would be to treat either the homebound or (as in our case) someone who is elderly/has dementia, etc.
Dr Isenberg came into my home yesterday to treat my father, who has dementia. Even though I told Dad before I went to work that the "Foot Dr" was coming to see him, he didn't remember it five minutes later. I was not personally there when he and his assistant came, but Dad's caregiver called me shortly after their visit. Mind you - Dad has dementia and forgets within just a few minutes. The purpose for the Dr coming in was to cut Dad's toenails. Neither I nor the nurse who sees him each month nor the caregiver are able to do so, but this Dr has training and is supposed to be a PROFESSIONAL. When he started to trim Dad's nails, he was asking numerous questions (about his meds, etc), and then either nicked Dad's toe or maybe had to dig deep, and it hurt him. Dad hollered (and I'm pretty sure he wasn't really kind to the Dr when he did so), and the Dr's response was: Did you think this would be painless? Dad's response: You're supposed to be a professional. There was some back and forth words thrown by both the Dr and Dad, to which Dr Isenberg finally said: I am more valuable than this, and I don't have to take this. My Dad: Well, you better not send us a bill, because we're not paying it. Dr Isenberg: (something to the effect) I will be sending you a BIG bill.
He told Dad's caregiver that we could set up another appointment (which he indicated with quite an attitude) or call somebody else. His assistant was most apologetic to Dad and his caregiver.
Yes, I know Dad probably said some pretty horrible things, but mind you, he has dementia, the Dr didn't give him any warning whatsoever that I'm about to do this or that, and it will probably hurt, so get ready. Instead, he bantered with an old man who simply did not understand completely what was going on and treated Dad rudely -- a real PROFESSIONAL.
If I had the ability to give NEGATIVE stars for a Review, I would do so!
My advice: If you have a parent/family member who needs a podiatrist come to your home to give some relief, DO NOT call Dr Mark Isenberg.
PS: I am required to "select a star rating" before this review will go through. I am selecting "1", only because there are no negatives included!
