Six weeks out from surgery for spinal fusion and lamenectomy. I feel fantastic and have gone back to work. No pain.... Dr. Duffy is wonderful, caring and skilled. I would definately tell anyone who has back pain to see him.

They have a very good professional reputation. I know that I'm under the care of an expert. They always made sure that I wasn't in any pain. I have never been put on hold when I call. Dr. Duffy is very professional and explained all the options for my case. He is a surgeon and knows that surgery is a permanent treatment for my chronic pain. If you just want pain shots and therapy you should go to just an orthopedic doctor who does treatment options. When you get to this level, you have tried all of the options like pain shots and therapy and now you are at the point when surgery is what you are seeking. Dr. Duffy is a spine surgeon, so if you don't want surgery, don't go to a spine surgeon! I haven't had my surgery yet, but I am impressed so far.

My primary care physician referred me to this doctor. I first saw him earlier this year and he was completely focused on doing surgery with no discussion whatsoever about alternative treatments. I returned to a neurologist who did a
complete workup on me two years ago. He told me at that time that he did not recommend surgery on my spine. He reviewed my most recent MRI and also had me get additional MRI's on my brain and cervical spine and again said he would not recommend surgery on my spine. I returned to this doctor to discuss alternative treatments and he told me that there are no alternative treatments. However, when I told him about my visit to the neurologist and the neurologist's name he abruptly changed his opinion. I do not have any faith in this physician and will not be seeing him again. I agree totally with another reviewer who said he is too intent on performing surgery. He spent the majority of the time, on both visits, to trying to convince me to have surgery. Contrary to his opening statement on my last visit that there are no alternatives to back surgery, I knew going in that there are. I was the one who had to bring up that I had returned to him to discuss the option of having injections. That seemed to surprise him that I knew about that but he did agree to try to find a physician for me who does those procedures. No. I'm not going to continue with this spine surgeon.

I went to this doctor and it appeared that he was really too anxious to do surgery. I had a second opinion which indicated that I really didn't need the surgery. My understanding from others is that this gruop of doctors at TBI really does a lot of surgeries.
