An excellent doctor to help you thru a difficult health problem that your best friend might be suffering with. It was scary enough seeing my Sheltie go from an active healthy 9 year old to one who could not move her legs or wag her tail - all within about 72 hours. It was even scarier when my regular vet told me there was nothing they could do and mentioned I should consider putting her down. Then they suggested seeing a Neurosurgeon and Dr. Gainsburg was one of the many on their recommended list. My proximity to his office did play a part in my decision, however after I called his office, and a few others, I was convinced by the way they treated me on the phone, in the office and later my furry daughter. Everything was explained in easy to understand detail. Treatment plans and cost options were clearly conveyed. Appointments, surgery and follow-ups were scheduled as fast as possible with my personal schedule kept in mind.
The back surgery needed was a horrible procedure that I would not wish on my worst enemy. To know that my loving ball of fur was suffering and might not ever be the same was heart-wrenching. Dr. Gainsburg did everything I would hope a Veterinarian would do to help us thru the procedure.
Amber is now healthy, happy 10 year old and still fetches her stuffed animals like a puppy!

Dr. Gainsburg is the best! I am so thankful that my Vet recommended him. He is very knowledgeable and knows the neurological diseases in dogs.

I will definitely recommend them to people I know. The chairs in their waiting room were fine, but you do not wait for long at all. I was comfortable. They went out of their way to make me feel special and respected, and were very compassionate to my situation. They always have an immediate answer for me when I call with a question. They would have me make an appointment only if it couldn't be handled over the phone. I know that they have a lot of clients here so I understand that they many not remember my name every time, but they always remembered my Dog's name. They attended to every need as I went through the difficult procedure with my dog. Every step of the procedure was explained before it was taken. I was allowed to stay with my pet whenever possible. I felt that the doctor and my pet had a one on one relationship - that he cared as much as I did for her well-being and overall care.

A year ago my pup had surgery performed by Dr Gainsburg. With her being only 6lbs, the back surgery was extremely difficult but a success, and now has a new lease on life that we can only thank Dr Gainsburg for. Dr Gainsburg explained our options and answered all our questions about the surgery, and was available via telephone with any questions that we had prior to or after the surgery. He even arranged for pain medication be delivered to our house because my dog was in pain prior to the surgery. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Gainsburg to anyone seeking specialist care for their dog. Thanks to Dr Gainsburg my Mitzi now rounds around like a six month old puppy!
