I have been taking my cats and dogs to Dr. Hughes & the staff at Ellerbe Road Animal Hospital for 20 years & am more than satisfied with their expertise and compassion. they have literally brought one of cats back from the brink on more than one occasion. Every staff member is kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. I am surprised each time that I go in I see someone I know there & they all are extremely pleased with Dr. Hughes. I was shocked to see that someone only gave them 1 star. I highly recommend him & his staff.

Every question I had was answered thoroughly
When your pet had to stay in overnight care did this veterinarian call you with follow-ups when they promised they would?
Absolutely, they usually call more times than they say they promised. I was fully informed the whole time.
Was this animal hospital's staff friendly?
Yes, they went above and beyond
Was there a designated area for your dog to go to the bathroom?
No, but there was a little grass outside the office so it was fine
Was this veterinarian friendly to your pet?
Extremely friendly, I could really tell his/her love for animals.

This guy is a con artist. He quotes you one thing, and then sticks it to you when you go to pay the bill. Yes they all act nice - but they are NOT affordable!!

He/she would never do that! Their full attention is always on me.

Not at all, it was very peaceful and quiet

I don't think I have ever been put on hold here for a long time and am so impressed with how quickly all of my questions are answered. There's nothing worse than having to wait on hold for a half an hour just to get someone to talk to you. I'm sure it's no surprise that my pet hates going to the vet, but what a relief to find an animal hospital that is so dedicated to making your pets experience as pleasant as possible. They never separate you from your pet and I was able to stay within "save me" range the whole time. No taking pets behind closed doors like other places I've been too. They have a huge selection of medication available for pets and are very knowledgeable about each brand provided. Every time I pick up medication they always have what I'm looking for and have never been out-of-stock. I've been to one or two places that had a really bad smell. I was worried I would encounter it here too but I didn't notice anything. I was amazed at how wonderfully they treated each of their staff members. They were so appreciative and thankful. I've never seen any employer treat their staff better, and it made me want to come back that much more.
