Raymond Miller is the veterinarian I bring my animals to. We followed him when he moved from Lake Jackson, even though we have to drive 20 minutes now. .
Beautiful clinic, watched over by a large tomcat named Tex, a quite amiable fellow.
Miller is competent and won't try to sell you on spending more money - he seems to be focused on practical health care for our pets. For example, my dog had a growth on her leg, and one veterinarian diagnosed it as cancer and recommended treatment involving thousands of dollars. We took her to Miller, and he said. .nahhh, we can remove that (and a few other wart-like growths on her) and see how it goes. Well, the dog lived to be 16 years old and when her liver went bad, we finally had her put to sleep, and he was very kind when he handled that. He truly seems to care.

I like Dr. Miller a lot - one time another vet diagnosed my dog's growths as cancer and started giving me all this info and a plan for what I'd need to do. ..I was like .what. . I can't spend that kind of money on a poor animal who feels perfectly fine and wouldn't understand all that fuss. ...I took her to Miller and he said . nahhhh that's not cancer, just little growths. .. Years later they did grow and he removed them for me. .a few more years went by. . Dog is now 15 years old and frisky as a puppy and growth-free.
He's very down-to-earth and honest, and seems to give me the straight scoop, and is perfectly fine with my decisions. My attitude is 'take care of them, keep shots up to date, feed them non-designer food, but no extreme pampering or life-saving measures'. They're fine with that, even though they do sell the designer food, they don't push it.
I will say. ..one day I came in with a very sick cat, she was dying, honestly. .18 years old, kidneys gone. ..They kept us waiting a good long while . .at least 10 min. .REALLy busy afternoon.
.And they didn't let me stay with her while they put her down. .but I understand that, too. .It can be quite unpleasant - I wish there were an easy way. like gas, maybe.
They gave me a little coffin-shaped box for her. .She had a long good life. They were very kind and sent a sympathy card!

We've known these people for several years, and the doctor and his staff are all quite friendly. The facility itself is quite spacious and clean, and new. The vet is considerate of expenses, and doesn't recommend unnecessary procedures. We drive out of our way to patronize the place, and also board our dog and two cats here.
We also have 2 ferrets temporarily. .and plan to let him look at them.

They were incredible. They consoled me and even gave me a hug.

Absolutely, they usually call more times than they say they promised. I was fully informed the whole time.
