I have been to this office on two separate occasions. The first time was a couple of years ago and was miserable. The doctor would not listen when I tried to tell him something was not right with my dog after his surgery. He was very lethargic, wouldn't eat or drink and would barely even lift his head. This is when he was still under the doctors care at the emergency vet facility. Doctor said this was normal after surgery. I knew it wasn't since my dog has had surgery before but doctor sent him home with me anyway. He continued to get worse and swelled up. Doc was kind of morbid and said that dogs usually don't survive this type of surgery so not to get my hopes up. I was devastated. When I was able to get him to my regular vet, he was literally at deaths door. My regular vet had to do emergencey surgery again and I'm happy to say, I still have my baby boy and he is healthy as an ox. I would rate my first interaction less than one star. My second trip was much different. The vet that took care of us this time was very caring. She seemed like she genuinely cared. I made note of her hours in case I needed to take him back before my regular vet opened. Complete opposite of our first trip. This visit was in 2013. Luckily no surgery was needed and again he is doing well. Maybe the first vet I dealt with a couple of years ago is no longer with this office. I'm not sure. The office staff is very helpful. I didn't wait long at all. They aren't known for being that good at what they do in my area, but they aren't known for being terrible either. They should probably work on improving their professional reputation. Their prices were pretty high, but typical for an after hours emergency vet.

I had to visit the emergency vet twice this past weekend. My dog was in extreem pain and Dr. Ellis checked him out and determined that it was probably an issue with a disk in his neck. He offered to do tests, but respected my wish to have my regular vet do it later if needed. He gave my dog some great pain meds and we were off. However, that night when his pain shots wore off, the pills just weren't helping for the pain and we went back to see Dr. Ellis, who again, was just as wonderful as he could be. This time, I agreed to his recommendation for the test so he could see my dog's spine and see if there was something worse. We confirmed that the original diagnosis was correct (impressive since it isn't like the dog could say what hurt), and he gave us some additional pain medicine. He answered all of my questions completely and we could really tell his genuine caring for animals. Dr. Ellis even took us into the back area so we could see the X-rays (or whatever they are called) and thoroughly explained all about the spine and showed us what the exact problem is and comforted us that with some time this would heal but coudl come back, etc. The whole staff there was absolutely wonderful. Yes, it was expensive, but it is to be expected since it IS after hours emergency care; however, I did not find it to be unreasonably priced for both the service as well as the peace of mind they provide. They are FABULOUS and I woudn't hesitate to go to them ever!

I took my dog there on Sunday 12/2/2012. She was in acute kidney failure. They were friendly and attentive. They kept her overnight and said they were going to flush her kidneys. They charged me 321.00 upfront which I gladly paid. The next morning I had to be there by 7:30 am to pick her up. They collected another 70.00 from me. I walked out with my baby and she seemed to be better. Over the last few days she has gotten worse. I don't have a whole lot of money so when she appeared to be better, I didn't take her to my normal vet for a follow up. She has been drinking lots of water but throwing it all up. I called my normal Vet today and he had her records from the emergency hospital and I found out my dog didn't even pee when she was there. How are her kidneys going to be flushed of toxins when she doesn't even pee. Not only that, they left the IV gear in her leg. When I called and asked about that I was told that most Vets like the gear left in their leg. Like really, what if I can't afford to take her to my normal vet. I mean, I had already spent almost 400 bucks. The way things are looking tonight, I'm going to loose my baby. If she survives tonite, she is going to my vet tomorrow
