I went to Anita Bains for help with counseling/mental health with the hope she could help me with my anxiety/depression problems. First I will state flat out, my visit with Anita was a complete mistake, although I was stupid enough to see her more than five times. From my opinion, I will state that Anita Bains is money hungry, meaning she will take anyone's services that walk through her door, and charge them, but give them ineffective services. For example, after a first visit, she will charge you $130.00 an hour, when she doesn't take insurance, so you're out of pocket. If you take two hours, and this first visit includes an intake, she'll charge you the extra $130.00, under the impression that you take money off trees, so you spend nearly two hours giving her your history, without any therapy. Then she will proudly say, you're under no obligation to see her again, and she's not offended if you don't, when it's you the customer who should be offended, because you've wasted over $300,00 over a two hour session to just explain your history, in order to see if she's a fit, without any help. Of course, I tried to see her a few more times in order to feel I could get my money's worth with her services, but those following sessions were just as ineffective as the first one. Anita kept on talking about someone in my past to get over with her use of Emotional Freedom Technique, but all her approach was make me whine about the past, without getting over anything. So I will say her therapy was bad enough, however her attitude was just as demeaning. It's one thing to get over my past, however it's another when the person you are paying for makes you feel like an idiot, due to her demeaning and patronizing attitude. Of course my reaction to her attitude is one thing, however when it comes to reimbursement with your out of network insurance, Anita doesn't seem obligated to help you out for follow up calls, since she got her payment, and it's not an issue to her if you haven't got your's. This review is a rather long rant - and for those reading this - you probably will come to the conclusion that I am just an angry person. And I will conclude with, I am an angry person because I felt taken advantage off after leaving this practicioner for help. I'd advise other people to learn from my stupid mistake.
