Book smart and takes trainings, but personality is important; and in the case of Joe, arrogance (making assumptions after getting very limited information and even providing biased advice to my now ex-) and defensiveness (unwillingness to hear soft, constructive feedback) impact the trust I was able to give him, or not give him. Never saw him again after just starting -- after he saw my now ex- for one session.
