I don't like to swim at Westend Racquet Club because of their prices, their inflexibility, and their strict times. The Club does not offer a pool only membership so you have to pay the whole membership fee even if you only use the pool. They close the pool twice a year to put up and take down the bubble. This year they closed the pool for an entire month because of a faulty blower and repairs needed on the pool during the bubble take-down process. When asked what they were offering in compensation for this closing they said the circumstances were beyond their control so they were offering nothing. Other businesses (airlines, movie theaters, restaurants, etc) offer small gestures of good faith to customers when things happen, out of their control or not, to show that they value their customers. Westend could have offered free guest passes, or collaborated with a nearby pool for a visitor discount, to appease customers. They instead chose to handle themselves in an arrogant and counterproductive manner, showing they do not value their members satisfaction; and I had to pay to swim somewhere else for the month (in addition to paying the monthly Westend fee to keep my membership). Overall, I would say this pool might be ok for casual summer visitors, but if you're a serious/competitive swimmer who can't afford to skip an entire month of swimming, and you want to give your business to someone who respects and appreciates it, don't go to Westend.
