This was the perfect place for my grandma to go in the last 2 weeks of her life. Donna and staff were wonderfully careful, considerate, good at relaying information to us, and were responsive in a way my family and I will always be grateful for. It was expensive, but it was worth it. They paid attention to her level of comfort in a way I didn't even know could be given by strangers.
This is an EXTREMELY expensive option. They did take good care of my loved one, but were not great with dealing with our family. When choosing a place for your loved one to move, understand that Ark on the River says they will allow visitors at any time. However, they do not honor that. Only immediate family was present while we were waiting for my loved one to pass on, and we were not treated kindly, We were referred to as "you people," and I am not sure where their empathy was at the time. They ended up earning over $100 per hour to check on my loved one a few times per day. Beautiful home, and I am sure they do a great job for the residents. I am just concerned that they are not understanding of families trying to say goodbye.
