My mother lived at Laurelwood for two years before she was asked to leave.
She was an extremely easy resident to take care of. Her requirements perfectly followed the definition of ASSISTED LIVING. But, when she began needing to be reminded that it was meal time or reminded to eat her meal or in need of help with using depends under garments, she was suddenly asked to leave! I am assuming that her nurses/aides found that it was just TOO MUCH work to handle the duties as described as "ASSISTED LIVING".

So choose wisely when considering an assisted living residence. Ask questions as to wheather or not they actually can handle the jobs described as assisted living.

AND be aware the your monthly bill at Laurelwood could jump from $4400 per month to $13,000 a month if they feel that you need a little more help!!!!!

They answered most of my questions but I could have used more information. Their staff was not that friendly, and didn't go out of their way to make me feel welcome. I feel like my appointment was pointless. None of my questions were answered, nothing was accomplished, and I felt worse when I left. The office was very easy to locate. I didn't have any trouble finding it at all. My loved one who lives there is not always consistently cared for in ways that protect their safety. Cleanliness is not consistent in terms of the facility. Nursing care is VERY sparse. If I could make the choice over again, I would choose differently...
