My review is regarding the Salmon Creek Companion Pet Clinic. I cannot comment on the other as I have not been. I had a HORRIBLE experience at this clinic. The staff treated me heinously and the owner was extremely rude. I will not be taking my cats there any longer.

There is an ambiguous sign stating: "Companion Pet Clinic Salmon Creek

As of August 1, 2008
We will be offering a 5% discount to those clients that pay with $$cash$$

(This excludes vaccines, exams, spays & neuters).

Thank you"

I attempted to pay for everything with cash except the exam I wanted to pay with a credit card (as it is excluded as per the sign). I was told that I could not do that and that I had to pay for the entire bill with cash for the discount to apply. I explained that this was not what the notice said. I am going to Lewis & Clark Law School and have a strong sense of justice. If something is misleading (and I was told other people have had issues with the same thing), then I feel it my duty to draw this out.

After I explained the erroneous wording of the sign, the reps still refused to accept the $26.50 on the card for the exam and the rest with cash to obtain the discount. I asked to speak with the office manager. One of the reps called her on the phone and spoke with her in the back and then transferred her up front for me to speak with on the phone. She was extremely rude and demeaning! She said that I obviously was not going to law school otherwise I would know that the form was not a contract. I was merely trying to get the clinic to abide by the notice they posted. She refused to allow the discount if I paid for the exam on the credit card and the rest with cash. Her voice was very heated on the phone and her tone was extremely rude. After hanging up with the office manager (and co-owner as she is married to the head vet), one of the receptionists (who had treated me poorly on past visits as well... she has a gruff and rude demeanor) said sarcastically that they were trying to do a favor to the customers and now will have to probably take down the sign... basically that I was ruining it for everyone. Because of the principal of the matter, I paid $26.50 on the card and the $100+ in cash, which left a $6.62 balance. (the discount portion which the receptionist did not apply as she was following the owner's orders). After leaving the clinic and discussing with my partner, I decided to go back and reverse the credit card charge and pay the $26.50 with cash just to hopefully smooth things over as he suggested a Better Business Bureau complaint would be better. I went ahead and returned to the clinic and did this transaction with the huffing and puffing of the receptionist. She said that the owner would have to reverse the $6.62 the following day as she could not.

I just called the owner/office manager and she left me in tears. She will not reverse the charge even though I paid the entire thing with cash and in fact, will be sending the balance to collections! (For $6.62!) She hung up on me during our conversation even though I maintained composure and did not once raise my voice. I had to call back to continue the conversation. She accused me of frauding her and told me that she wants me to take the issue to small claims court so I'll end up paying more money! She said she was going to reword the sign to make it less ambiguous but now has decided to not change it since that is her perogative. I asked her if $6.62 was worth losing my business and for me spreading the word regarding their rude behavior and she said that yes it was if she didn't have to suffer this headache any longer! They have a Better Business Bureau sign posted in their store, yet they will treat customers like this! I am extremely disappointed with the treatment that this clinic gave me and strongly urge you not to go to this clinic any longer. I'm sure you can find a better location with people that will treat you with respect and not be demeaning and rude... not to mention give false advertising.

They also now will not give me the copies of the chart (that I paid for in full) nor the medicine they ordered for my cat due to this situation.
