I have had dogs my entire life and have been a client of Hilton Veterinary Practice for years and cannot say enough good about the practice. I have referred many to then and will continue to do so. My most touching and greatful experience was one of the hardest ones the death of my dog.. so warm caring and understanding and supportive.

The office staff are always cheery and helpful. They speak not only to me but to my pets, and they are very professional and remain friendly! The veterinarians are superb. They take the time to really get to KNOW your pet, and make friends before laying hands on the animal. I am completely satisfied with this group!

We took our girl, then an 8 year old female golden retriever, here in 2008. We had a previous diagnosis of a torn CCL and the person we were first lead to wanted to use the most expensive of the 3 or 4 surgeries on her. The attending vet here argued for a simpler procedure based on a strong polyethylene based material called firewire. After researching this, I am a chemist by profession, we opted for this method. We also found an excellent guide to postop care online and followed that pretty carefully until Sadie was ready for some therapeutic exercise. At that we point we took Hilton's advice and went to a nearby place called the Swimmerer who has an indoor heated pool where he works with individual dogs 1 on 1 for about 30 minutes. Sadie loved that, by summer's end she was back in 'her' lake in the Adirondacks. Although somewhat overweight and arthritic, Sadie did not have a failure in the other leg, which is common, is now two years out and swims strongly. She does have arthritis to the point where we no longer allow her to do stairs inside the house, but she is happy and so are we.
