I really like my therapist there, Timothy Barnard. However, the office staff leave something to be desired. It's really hard to get in touch with them. Their phones are only on from like 9am to noon and then from about 1pm to 4pm. I also work an 8-5 job and from noon to 1 and after 4 are the easiest times for me to call since I can't use my cell phone or make personal calls at work, it's insanely difficult to get in touch with them. If they would provide even a general email address, that would be helpful as even though I can't always call, I can usually email while at work. They do have an answering service, however since it normally isn't an emergency, I hate to make them send a message over to their office.

I hate the automated greeting when calling the office. What if it's an emergency? Clicking the make appointment option gives you someone who 1) cannot make appointments and 2) can't hear very well. I was transferred to another person to make an appointment and she was never there. How are you supposed to get help when it's such a pain to make an appointment? Hire someone to actually answer the phone, who can hear, and who can make appointments and direct your calls.

I was one of their first patients 1995! Dr. Chakruburtty has attended past 16 yrs. I must assume partial responsibility, but don't send your worst enemy to this man! Check other reviews. He is rude, incompetent and petulant! He sent me a letter Firing me after 16 yrs! He claims for missed appt! He was directed to cooperate with my other doctors, refused to do so. Presently pursuing. malpractice and ethics violations! If you are feeling lucky, make an appt. with Dr. chak!

I'm not sure how these people could have any good reviews, unless it is from patients who simply wanted a good source for prescription drugs.I just wanted to get some help from a professional.
I was never even diagnosed before being put on hardcore meds after telling Dr. Li I thought I may have bi-polar issues. In other words, I guess I diagnosed myself. Every visit I felt worse, so every visit she increased my dosage!? The only real question she asked was whether I had ever felt suicidal - and when I answered yes she wrote it down. In 4 appointments it was NEVER mentioned again!
She sent me to a Dr. Hassell in her office for therapy (since Dr. Li only prescribes meds). I gave him a chance, but after a few appointments of listening to his stories for an hour (stories that changed every time he repeated them), I asked Dr. Li if she could recommend someone I would relate to better. I was told I would have to go elsewhere because it would be a conflict for the clinic to reassign me to a competent doctor.
I got to the point of being terrified, I couldn't even remember how I had been just a couple of months before. I could not get a call back and the answering service was so rude - I was told (since they close at noon on Friday) that the only way I would receive a call back is to check myself in to the hospital. I dould not get an answer to any question, expecially about how to handle the severe anxiety attacks or what to do to help myself.
I resorted to calling a close family member who agreed that I appeared to be in a downward spiral. I stayed with them for a week, quit taking the meds Dr. Li prescribed (I left her a message that I wanted to get off the pills so could she PLEASE call me and tell me how - but no response again). I decided I couldn't possibly feel worse than while on the meds. After a week, I am just starting to feel more like myself. I know I still have depression issues, but never like over the past 2 months of taking the meds I was prescribed.
The whole experience left me feeling helpless and ashamed. I am now trying to figure out how something can be done to help people who actually need help seek competent care. The whole industry seems to be a scam.
I have gone to see a new doctor and was shocked he actually listened to me. Told me to stay off the meds and attempt to use food, exercise - they will monitor and start meds if necessary. But I feel so relieved to be out of the care of Dr. Li and her rude and incompetent staff.

They answered most of my questions but I could have used more information. Their staff was not friendly at all, I didn't feel welcome there. I felt like my needs were mostly met, but they didn't make any extra effort. While I was changing my insurance information the receptionist got on the telephone and completely ignored me until the phone call was over. Afterwards the woman who is responsible for scheduling next appointments and payments was completely rude and treated me like I was a complete annoyance. The staff is especially bad at calling patients back, I have left two voice mail messages to get my medications refilled and two days later I have still not heard back from them. The doctors are very knowledgeable and friendly, but that hardly makes up for the office staff's complete unreliability and incompetence when it comes to meeting their patients' needs. I understand that people can have bad days, but an entire office staff on the same day? The work for psychiatrists' whose patients have a complete spectrum of mental health issues, including social anxiety, yet they treat them like pesky stray animals. Save your money and find equally qualified and experienced psychiatrists at smaller group practices.
