While it may be outdated and not the prettiest Vet's office out there, it's been such a pleasure to be a patient of theirs. Dr. Duhon is very knowledgeable and doesn't recommend anything unnecessary; she will try other options before one that will cost you money (medication or surgery). For example, she suggested I try the Thundershirt with my anxious dog before prescribing medicine. Also, I find this Vet's office extremely affordable. Each receipt has an itemized list of everything you're paying for as well as the prices for all services offered there, so you'll always know the cost ahead, say, if you want to schedule a spay surgery or teeth cleaning. Wait times have varied from 1 min to 30 min. but I don't mind because the care is good, appointment is quick, and bill is affordable.

My name is Frank Brescher. I live near Malibu, CA and have a red and white Irish Setter which was diagnosed with heartworms having been rescued from a breeder in Kentucky just over a year ago. My dog is 5 yrs old so it must have come to CA with the heartworms. I met with 2 vets here and one had not seen a case of heartworms for over 2 years, the other 7 years.
Therefore I contacted my niece, Stephanie Kraemer, who has a pet grooming business in Ponchatoutla. I called Dr Duhon on her recommendation and was thrilled to speak to an expert on the best method of treating my dog. Dr. Duhon explained the best method to cure my dogs problem, called be to follow up and THAT is what counts.
Based on the solutions offered out here, I saved a few thousand dollars and got Dr Duhon to explain what could have happened had I followed the advice I got for the fast kill method. Dr. Duhon is a real pro!
