Oct 2016 I took my prescription to this pharmacy for compression bandages under my DME coverage. I was told that even though they participate with BCBSM they would not submit the bill because they lose money when reimbursed. I paid for it out of pocket and called BCBSM. I was told that they signed an agreement with BCBSM to accept the negotiated reimbursement so they cannot refuse to submit the bill.
I went back with a new Rx for the same items in January and was told that these were not billable. She explained that their "billing firm" said this.
I countered with the arguement that they cannot cherry-pick what they will and will not bill. That it isn't legal. After some grumbling they finally broke the bill up to what they said was my 10%. It is going to be interesting to see how the payment is handled by BCBSM.
