Dr. McLin is a jerk, plain and simple. The funny thing is, my wife and I only just found this out but all of our friends, family and co-workers already knew this "I'm never going to that guy again" "You should've told me you were going there" were common responses when I told people we went to Cimmaron Vet, one response in particular "I want to punch that guy in the face" stood out.

The techs and assistants seemed nice enough.

We took our cat in because his left eye was swelling and there is a sore on the surface of his eye. We were concerned that it might be an infection or a virus. Normally we go to Dr. Carpenter (Awesome guy!) but he was out of town and we didn't want to let the issue go un-addressed.

The assistant started by grabbing our cat by the scruff and yanking him out of the kennell, instead of just letting him come out on his own. She was fine other than that but once the doctor came in I figured out who taught her to be so needlessly rough with animals.

When the vet came in he seemed to be nice enough but immediately got rough with my cat. He wanted to dye my cats eye to look for scratches, so rather than using eye-drops he took a syringe and straight up squirted my cat in the eye. That would piss me off, why wouldn't it freak out a cat?

As soon as my cat got irritated Dr. McLin grabbed him and more-or-less got him in a headlock to keep him from wiggling. Obviously this only made my cat angrier. The doctor would say things like "you don't scare me" (who is he showing off for? He could have done pushups while yelling "YOU SEE WANT A PEICE OF ME CAT?!" and it would have made sense with how he was acting). He finally gave up and asked us about rabies shots and said, in a super wise-guy, smart a$$ tone of voice "if he's not current, we're gonna have a problem" he might as well have finished that sentance with "you idiots".

He said he couldn't see a scratch so it could be a foreign object in my cats eyelid or a virus. He said to come back tomorrow so he could sedate our cat to look further. We were 80% sure we did not want to come back, before we even got home from his office. We called in just to double-check if McLin was capable of operating on the eye if needed and we were told that "he's removed plenty of eyes before".....

So great! This dude is a total jerk, super rough and macho with our animal as if he had to impress an audience, wants to charge us for another rabies shot because apparently animals don't like being held down by all four limbs and squirted in the eye and he's ready to remove our cats eye. No thanks!

We decided to go to the Animal Eye Care Clinic in Moore, Ok. They were SUPER NICE! The let Gideon (my cat) come out of his cage on his own, they loved on him, gave him baby-talk and made sure he was real comfortable. Dr. Shultz used numbing drops first so he wouldn't get irritated and when he did get a little agitated she would step back and let him run back to my wife (he's a mamas boy) for a few minutes and then continue after he calmed down. Once she got a good look she said "It's a scratch!" she pointed it out, explained why she could be sure and gave us the eye drops we'd need. They were super respectul and so nice to our pet that I'm a little bummed that they're specialists and not general practitioners.

Don't go see Dr. McLin.

When I arrived for my appointment the friendly staff seemed to be waiting for me. I've been to other places where I had to wait forever after I arrived for my appointment, but not here. I was very impressed. I knew I was getting top-of-the-line treatment. I have complete confidence in their ability to successfully diagnose and treat my pet with any ailment they might have. They've handled everything from annual shots to complicated illnesses, with competence and loving care.
Dr. Hodgson, in particular, was wonderful.
