A year ago we said goodbye to our beloved yellow lab just shy of 14 years old. We loved him like a son. We had always told ourselves that when the time would come we would want to say goodbye in our home, the home he grew up in. We felt like it would be less stressful for him and more peaceful for us. We asked our vet who had been seeing him all his life Dr Leigh Semilof from Williamson Animal Hospital to come over. We thought she was going to make this terrible sad day a little bit easier. Well we were wrong. She showed up earlier and said she had another appointment to go to after. Her comments and her demeanor was telling us she just wanted to get it done and over with to move on with her day. This was such a hard decision for us to make not something we wanted to rush. She was surprised he was still so alert and said she wasn’t prepared for that. She just wanted us to grab him and hold him still so she could install the catheter on his leg. I said don’t you usually give them a shot to relax them first? She said well I don’t really have anything and then looked in her bag and took something out and said that would work that would make him feel dizzy. I had to walk away from the room I was so sick in my stomach. I will always regret not telling her to just leave but it would’ve not been fair for him to keep him any longer. She showed no compassion no empathy it was just a job for her. Needless to say I would stay away from her. I no longer bring my other dog to her office and I definitely would never recommend her to anyone.

Dr Leigh has been my vet for 23 years. I have owned dogs, cats, and reptiles. She does it all.

This "doctor" tortured my cat with unnecessary surgery. I wouldn't take my pet rock to see her.

Since I have been living in Sodus Point with 4 of my dogs, 3 of them have been to visit Dr. Semilof for varying problems and conditions. She is knowledgeable, professional and respectful. She shares her opinions, which I value, but is willing to listen to mine. She doesn't speak down to me, nor does she speak above my capacity to follow her explanations.

I just accidentally discovered that she attends her OWN emergencies (by calling before office hours to cancel a scheduled appointment). YIPPEEEEEEE!!!! That gives me incredible reassurance and confidence!

As lifelong owner of pets (and I'm no kid!), I HIGHLY recommend this practice.

They almost always have a promotion or special going on. Whether its a complimentary consultation for new clients or a percent-off a certain service, I always get some sort of discount. I have complete confidence in their ability to successfully diagnose and treat my pet with any ailment they might have. They've handled everything from annual shots to complicated illnesses, with competence and loving care. The examining rooms at #fullname|business~this veterinarian#'s office were immaculate. You could practically eat of the floor if you wanted to. There were no bad smells and everything seemed really sterile. I love how attentive they are here. Even when notified that they have a personal phone call, they always wait to take it later. Their full attention is always on me and it makes me feel special. One thing I love about them, is that they're always willing to ask for other qualified professionals' advice when they don't have an answer for my question. I never have to worry about them giving me a wrong answer just because they weren't willing to ask for help.
