I had a bad experience with Dr. Vogl. My healthy dog went in for a routine dental cleaning and was returned to me in acute respiratory distress. Dr. Vogl recommended I leave my dog overnight but said that no one would be there to watch him. I took him home, but instead of going directly home, went to an emergency clinic instead. My dog was close to death, had acute aspiration pneumonia, and although he wasn't unconscious, he was unresponsive and did not recognize me. It took a week of intensive care - oxygen, fluids and antibiotics - for my dog to recover. The explanation offered by Dr. Vogl was that these things "just happen", and he explained that my dog was fine and suddenly showed symptoms the moment I walked in to pick him up. I was not informed immediately of the problem; instead they had me pay the bill before they told me there was a problem. (I always pay my bills, but the bill could have waited - my first concern was my dog.) My dog did survive, but the experience deeply frightened him and his personality has changed. I cannot put my trust in Dr. Vogl and have changed veterinarians.
