I have used Dr. Rick Harmon, Oaks Veterinary Clinic, for very many years. He is a truly caring vet and knows how important pets are to their owners.. He has worked my guinea pigs in his schedule when there is an emergency. Very reasonable! You would be hard-pressed to find another vet as good as he is. I highly recommend Oaks Veterinary Clinic for your pet. There are other vets there, but he is the one I've used for so many years.

I have been to many vets in Des Moines over the years, and Oaks is by far the best I've found, affordable, caring and always amazing follow up.

The staff at The Oaks are wonderful. The vets and technicians are extremely knowledgable and caring, and the pricing is very good. I had to have an x-ray done on my dog, and it cost under $30. They also offer discounted spay/neutering and the first round of vaccines for animals who have been adopted from a shelter. Yes, the place is small and noisy, but you can tell they've been around for a long time and know their stuff! I cannot reccommend them enough!

This provider has helpful information available online, which is really convenient. . It's so refreshing to find a vet that isn't always overwhelmed by too many pets. They are able to spend as much time with you as you need and are never rushed off to see another pet. It is so refreshing to see a provider that you can tell truly cares about their customers. Dr. Harmon was very patient with me when I had my persian put down. He was honest and assured me I was doing the right thing. I was extremely satisfied with how smoothly my pet's appointment went and how helpful the vet was. It really went well.
