I have been at another school that told me they teach some awesome self-defense program or some combat stuff. After about a year there, I decided to look around. After trying a few classes at Martial Arts International, I finally found what I was looking for! It was not just about the practical self-defense techniques and physical fitness that mattered to me. It is also a sense of belonging. I never got a call of concern from my old school; Martial Arts International Instructors talk to me and give me a sense that I matter. This is truly the school I see myself training forever. Master Melegrito is something to listen to and his sincerity and love for what he does echoes through his team members. He always speaks of our school as a family and I am so glad to be a part of it. Thank you Martial Arts International!

Was there annoying music playing while you waited or during your visit?
Yes, it was downright irritating!
Did this provider's staff seem to respect him/her?
Kind of, but not very much
Did this provider listen to your input and concerns?
Definitely not! I was constantly interrupted or cut off!

The worst I have seen
Was this provider's office too loud?
Way too loud! I could barely hear what anyone was saying over the noise

Martial Arts International has the family values I like our son to learn. Not only is he being a better athlete, he understands that this activity comes with making me and my husband happy and keeping up his grades at school. This is what MAI is all about! Most importantly, there are always enough Instructors on the floor that seemed to truly care about his progress and his personal development. There are several occasions where they have to give him some private lessons just to keep him on track during challenging times. I can honestly say, I LOVE MARTIAL ARTS INTERNATIONAL!

There's really no way to describe an excellent karate school but Martial Arts International is truly an exceptional one for me. My goal when I enrolled was to learn practical self-defense techniques from a legitimate source. I continue to receive that and more! I really like the friendly environment but at the same time the rules are there to keep everything in order. The instructors are the best and very well qualified in what they teach. In my personal opinion, I consider this the best martial arts school in the Bellevue and Omaha Nebraska area!

*Poor customer service. Parents and students are quite often confused as to the expectations of the school.
*McDojo. Look it up. You will be more informed because of it.
*Expensive contracts required.
*Misleading website advertising. Out of the 12 people listed on the 'Our Staff' page, only five are still actively employed by M.A.I.
*Don't be lured in by the summer 'special'. After a low first month price, the tuition cost will double.
*The owner is a great instructor with a HUGE ego and you will never see him. (See the photos on the studio wall and you will know what I mean.)
*Expensive equipment requirements that can only be purchased through the school.
*Expensive testing fees to get to the next belt level.
*The anti-bullying program does not seem to apply to one of the main instructors who himself behaves like a bully.
*All of the great instructors have left the business leaving less than fully trained leadership students teaching the classes.
*Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere for martial arts training. You will be glad that you did!
