I have visited Wake Oak Manor for over ten years. The staff are always friendly. CNA and staff assist residents to and from activities and dining rooms. I have visited several rest homes and assisted living homes in the Burlington, Graham, and Haw River areas. White Oak Manor is one of the best in these areas.

I had heard many bad things about this place but took a chance and went to visit with them. The staff were great and helped me transition my father into the facility with a minimum of fuss. Overall the experience here has been very positive and although there are a few bumps here and there, as there are with any facility, I am totally satisfied with the care given both my father and the service they afford to the families. The only downside to the facility is that the company itself needs to invest more money into the building for cosmetic purposes as many would look at it and write it off due to the outward appearance and not actually go in and talk with the staff to see how much of a jewel this place really is and how wonderful a place it is for your loved one.

My mother has lived there for 4 years. She started out with Rehab ( who are wonderful!!) and has stayed ever since. Every time myself or any of our friends from church stop in to visit she is always clean, happy and loves the food. The care staff is exceptional given the difficulity they are presented with in caring for some of the more difficult residents there. I have seen residents cuss, hit and even spit at the staff. But they march on like professionals in providing excellent care to everyone.

The Staff are rude! The nurses and CNAs act like they do not want to be there. They yell at the residents. They avoid helping the residents. The person sitting at the nursing station is rude because I had some questions needed to be answered and she saw me standing there and she continued to be on the computer. So I left. I wouldn't recommend this place to NO ONE! This place is a disgrace.

There are a few compassionate people working at this facility, but they obviously cut corners in every way possible. We could not leave my mother there even 2 weeks. She needed help feeding, dressing- they would bring a tray, set it down at her feet where she could not reach it, and either not come back at all, or come back an hour and a half later to feed it to her. She was unable to press a call button (dementia, and it was also out of reach); if we did not keep someone there with her all day, she was left completely alone. One morning she was dressed in the same clothes as the day before- they had not helped her with nightgown, etc. They did not check to see that she was drinking plenty of fluids- would bring in large pitcher that she could not hold, and sit it away from her reach. Some of the aides were very sweet with her, but very very overworked. In the evenings we overheard some of the aides yelling back and forth to each other, cursing, and even overheard one tell the resident he would not bring them anything to drink because they didn't eat the food he had brought. Then kept yelling at him. I would not leave my dog at this place. We did talk with admin, who tried to correct it, but it always slipped back after a day, back to the way it was previously.

Their staff was not that friendly, and didn't go out of their way to make me feel welcome. I would never visit them again. I was very disappointed. Their prices were not fair at all. They were extremely overpriced and I felt ripped off.
