Berkshire was the worst place you could ever put a loved one. My mom was there for 2 weeks after her back surgery (before we took her out) which was 2 weeks to long. During her stay there she was only given one bath and she only got that because my dad went to administration and complained. They didn't half feed her. There were at least 3 evenings where she didn't receive any dinner at all. When we called to tell them she didn't get any dinner they sent her a metal tray that looked like it might have come from a prison with some beets and a half cup of dried up fruit. My dad tried and tried time and time again to get something done but nothing ever changed. She wasn't given the medicines she was suppose to have and when she did get them they were usually late. On one occasion they even left dirty needles laying around in the room. My sister and I sit by and watched as lights would go on in patience rooms and the nurses and the aids would just walk right by them. On another occasion the lady beside my mom was put on a beside commode and left there for about 15 minutes or more while she yelled and yelled for somebody to come and get her off. All the aids took lunches and breaks at the same time so that left no one on the floor with the patients. I only say this because we saw it with our own eyes. Every time my Dad would complain they tried to make him feel like he was the idiot, always trying to cover their behinds and never actually listening to what he had to say or even owning up to it or try to fix it. Oh they would say they would but the next day would be worse. When they did come around and ask her for instance what kind of food she did and didn't like, she told them she didn't like carrots. Well guess what the very next day she got carrots. It seemed liked what ever she told them or asked for they did just the opposite. The last day she was there my sister had had enough....She started taking pics...well guess what they started moving then...One nurse grabbed a patience that had been just sitting in the hallway in a wheelchair and took off down the hall with her, another one grabbed the medicine cart and started giving out meds and one just hid behind the wall all together, but at least they started moving. I know this all sound crazy but it is how it is at Berkshire...Please don"t put you loved one there.

It was a complete disaster from the beginning very young incompetent administration, dishonest about quality of care physical therapy was severely understaffed un able to give necessary attention to patients, the food was uneatable prison food I suspect. More lies than I could stand finally checked out patient and did care at home. Yo have been warned.

They didn't follow through with almost everything they told me I would get when I first arrived. I feel like they slighted me. Whenever I make an appointment, I'm always confident that they're going to be ready for me at my scheduled time. At other places I've been to, it's always bothered me when they postpone my appointment, but they've never done that here. Don't call this provider if you're in a hurry. Every time I call I have to wait on hold forever. I think I got a gray hair the last time I was waiting. I can tell it is maybe not a top priority to maintain a professional appearance here. They didn't look terrible, but there is definitely lots of room for improvement. They don't treat their clients equally at all, and only make time for their favorite clients. If they didn't like me, they didn't make time for me.
