The Physical Therapy/Rehab head lacks PT skills and patient interaction skills. Not everyone who doesn't speak good English is rude, so this lady does not have an excuse for being one. `I've been in Sunray for a few months to witness this.

Their office was way too cold, I was absolutely freezing. I wanted to get out of that office as soon as possible. They were far too arrogant to even look in patients room to make sure things were ok, even though they knew they should. And when you push the nurse button, the light is quietly turned off and not answered. I was hoping to see someone that considered my husband’s safety more important than always having a sarcastic answer when I questioned them about the repeatedly neglected care he was receiving. I was very unimpressed with their level of skill. They walk by your room as if you were not there. It seemed like they had just started yesterday. This made me nervous, and I wanted them to hurry up and discharge him to come home and be taken care of. They keep their patients full of pills so they will never again be able to utilize their brain into doing anything but look like a zombie; then all of a sudden their short term has turned into a long term. Beware....and please don't sign your relative over to them with all the paperwork they will give you, to try and force you to turn your loved one over to the state so they can get the SSI check. I was there almost two years ago when my husband was discharged from his hospital to this facility for a 90 day rehabilitation process. They immediately started giving him Ativan pills and told me a week of him being there that he would never be able to do anything and suggested I leave him in there for the rest of his life by presenting to me paperwork for his SSI benefits. I refused to complete them but instead made arrangements to bring him home because my very first visit with him at this facility, he was full of feces and feces all over his face, bed linen, pillows and hand glove that is put on the patients hands when they refuse to cooperate when they are administering the Ativan Drug and my husband was not cooperating according to the supposed to be Nurse. I have been taking care of him since December 2011 and he is doing great; has not had a sleeping pill since he was discharged from Sunray East Convalescent Hospital in December 2011. Please do not authorize your loved ones to be sent here, I was there every day during his almost 2 month stay and when you ring the bell for assistance, someone politely turns the light out and no one ever come in to assist you. When I rang the bell, they would assume it was the patient because they are all ignored by the bell. The nurses walk by and never look into the rooms to see if everything is ok; it’s as if no one is there to assist or take care of. I came in after hours one night to find out my husband had fallen out of a bed with no bedrails and the guy that was in bed next to my husband told me my husband was down on that floor for hours and he tried pushing his bell to let someone know hours ago but no one ever came. When I get there late nights, cotton is all over the floor because the diaper my husband had on was the one I put on him the night before when I bed bath him; noticeable by the black maker line I placed on the rear of the diaper the night before. They never bath him on a daily basis or assisted him with brushing his teeth because the stench of the entire room would be absolutely horrific. Most of them have no family and are being totally neglected and abused. Please don't send your DOG HERE....YOUR LOVED ONE WILL BE NEGLECTED AND ABUSED, I PROMISE YOU! I wish I could give them a NO STAR. This facility is absolutely horrific.

Just as a side note, I was very impressed with how conveniently located this business was. It was so easy to find, I didn't have any trouble at all. I was seen almost as soon as I walked in the door. I didn't have to reorganize my day around my appointment at all. When comparing them to others I have visited, they are among the best I have seen. I was so impressed with the progress I was able to make after visiting them. All my questions were answered, and I feel a lot more confident and hopeful about the future.
