I just want to take a minute to thank the entire staff at Southwood of Norwell for the care my mother received at Southwood, my mom expressed many times over her two weeks there how comfortable everyone made her feel. She was discharged last Friday and it was remarkable how an 87 year old Women bounced back from a fractured Hip in such a short time and it all had to do with the care the staff had shown her. Thank You again to Richard, Diane, Lindsey Starr and the compassionate Staff you were all on your A game. A special thank you to Jennifer, Kelly, Laurie and Sue.

I can not say enough about this facility and their amazing staff. My Grandmother was a patient from 8-9-12 to 9-10-12 and my Grandfather was a patient from 3-26-15 to 5-8-15. Our questions were always answered which helped allay any fears or concerns we had. They took the time we needed, we never felt rushed and they treated us like family. We have a large family, we had a lot of visitors and the nursing staff was patient with us and willing to give us all updates and teach us what we needed to know about each of my grandparents' care. The rehab team was excellent and we were able to obtain the knowledge and info we needed to be able to continue their care at home. Right when you walk in the building you are welcomed into a clean (home-like) environment. During both stays we were able to visit with our grandparents and use the outdoor areas which were beautiful and right off the unit. The food was good (I tasted some things myself) and both of my grandparents gained much needed weight during their stays. Nobody wants to have to go to “a nursing home”, but both experiences were excellent and we would choose this facility again in a heartbeat.

My mother in law was recently admitted to Southwood for rehab after an illness. She loved it there! The care from the nurses and CNAs and rehab staff was amazing! The food was great and she often told us she felt like she was staying at a hotel! I would highly recommend this facility!

Our Mom lived at Southwood for close to two years in her home town of Norwell, MA. Unfortunately we lost her on March 2, 2015 due to complications from multiple sclerosis but her care while at Southwood was the best, other then living in her own home. Mom so enjoyed the staff, always engaging and upbeat.
We found the facility to be well staffed, knowledgeable and clean.
The staff always alerted her physician and us , without delay on several occasions when Mom was having a medical problem.
I'd highly recommend Southwood to anyone looking for a small. well run nursing home staffed by people who CARE.

My father stayed here while being treated for multiple cancers. We knew it was a matter of time before he passed but when we had a meeting with his caseworker and other staff members to try to map out a plan for his stay ( we wanted him to be home when he passed) they would not even admit that he was dying.

When I took my father to Jordan Hospital for radiation treatment I asked his doctor to take a look at him because he had taken a serious downturn. She had him admitted because he was dehydrated and had a bedsore to the bone. All of this while being under 24 hour care at Southwood. They took a dying man and added to his pain. After being released from Jordan we never went back and will never go again.

Horrible place to work!!!!!!Staff are overworked &especially underappreciated. The director named doris stetson never smiles or has a nice thing to say: our Rn/Lpn/Cna nursing staff took bets one week to see how many times doris even smiled and was pleasant to us--and in 5 days NOT ONE of us could report a time where this head of nurse manager even smiled hello or acknowledged us & so then staff stick together feeling unheard because higherups are unfair. Doris stetson is even rude to familys that come visit and 2 evening Cnas heard her making fun of Lindzey(the owner) for having no past licensed nursing home administrator experience saying to family she was from car rental company and got job because of her dad owning. Unprofessional. Our floor supervisors like Carry, And Deven ARE WONDERFUL and supportive BUT minnie could use help in kindness she is always mad. If we report we get fired or hours cut.I have been here a few years, I stay because i am so close to my home and daughters jobs. I myself AND Coworkers are hoping for change, but until the Starr family owners stop giving this 1 miserable woman all the power the nursing home will never reach the potential it could annd staff will thrive and be happy
