Very stressed about my dad.His psycho-social needs not being met at this place he is in.Jan was not feeling good yesterday, she asked me to bring his clothes for Thanksgiving to Dad. She has been wearing herself out doing everything she can for him. Well the night before the nursing supervisor and I had a good talk. One of the things we both decided that Dad was to be up for meals. except breakfast. Went to be here for lunch with Dad and Jan. They were just getting him up during the time we allotted before JRs to be with them. I was told the CNA could not get him up until nurse changes bandages???. Every other day he has been up and ready for therapy by 10????. Wasted whole 30 min allotted waiting for him to be cleaned changed and up in chair.As they headed for lunch room one of them said " I hope they are still serving lunch ) His bandages can be changed when up in chair, Yes high enough and accessible , Jan got him special clothes to make sure.Day before he had nothing to drink,several times his call button not even where he could get at it. Uncle Roger pushed Dads button a couple of times . He finally got up and went in hall to find someone Dad needed urinal emptied from time before so he could use it.He saw 3 in the hall gabbing .Day after day neglect on their part, am getting very upset over this behavior and attitude on their part.They do not check on him, converse with him, one of the CNAs could not understand enough English to even ask a basic question. Had my father gotten up today yet. She waved her hands , said be right back, put on gloves and went in to help get him ready.Came right back out saying she get him OK??and walked away. WTF. Just about time to get ahold of the state Ombudsman. Am sick of the treatment (neglect ) he is getting.Maybe if I post this on their page I may give one more chance

My father was unfortunate enough to be placed here.. He was sent to the ER and we were told after he had not had food or water.. He was very dehydrated and malnourished. He also had to be cleaned by the ER staff as he arrived in the ER "dirty". He went from a semi-walking, talking individual to a hallucinating, incoherent man. I wouldn't send my dog there!!

I have been caring for my elderly mother for the past three years. Recently the decission had to be made to put her into long term care at a nursing facility. A facility in Mansfield Ct could not remember or care for my mothers needs after beting there on three separate occasions. I decided to take a tour of St. Joseph Living Center facility in Windham, Ct. The minute i walked through the doors I knew this was the place I knew would care for my mother in the manner in which she deserved. Every staff member there treated my mother and her entire family with complete respect and dignity. Every effort was made to make my mother and her entire family comfortable with her her care. First my mother was matched and put into a room with another woman that was also as caring and respectful as the staff. Although my mother's stat there was a short one, in all the years I have been caring from my mother, I have never experienced such loving care for the eldery, and especially my very ill mother, by any other facility or Doctor and I did release many. Although the loss of my mother will be difficult to bear for a very long time, the thought that I will continue to remember is that she was cared for in such a manner that will warm my heart for as long as it takes for me to recover from her passing. St. Joseph Living Center, in Windham Ct was everything I expected and more. I will for ever be in their debt for allowing my mother to pass with dignity, grace, and most of all the love from God, her family and the staff she was entitled to. Thank you very much.
