My 82 year old father is currently at this rehab facility. This is his second stay. The first went fairly well and he was in a private room and different wing from where is he now. This stay, which has been 70 days and counting, has been horrific. When he was first re-admitted, I personally told every staff member I could find that he was diabetic. A week later, we discovered, no one had bothered to check his blood sugar, let alone determine if he required insulin. After approximately 40 days, my father had to be admitted into the hospital with a serious UTI. After many tests, it was also determined that he had endocarditis (infection in the heart). I struggle to understand why my father became so ill before Regents determined (and after my mother insisted) he be taken to the hospital. An IV antibiotic was ordered by his physician to be administered until October 1st. Since his return to Regents, the staff has failed to administer it twice (that we are aware of). The latest instance was this Saturday. We are at the point where the nurse is to call my brother each and every time the IV is administered (3pm and 3am). Unfortunately, we have found this visit to be quite different that his first stay and find the staff, both medical and administrative to be completely unacceptable. In my experience, the social workers fail to respond to telephone calls or emails as well as fail to provide timely and critical information to the family. My father is not a patient that does not have loved ones watching out for him. My mother visits each and every day, I visit almost every week night and my brother visits on the weekend. Not one single day goes by without a visit to my father by a family member. I shudder to think what is happening to the patients that do not have active and attentive advocates. The one positive comment I can honestly post is that Tomas, a CNA, is absolutely wonderful. He is compassionate, and always goes above and beyond. If we were not this far into and constrained by insurance benefits, etc., I would move my father immediately.

This nursing home is more interested in keeping the beds occupied that they could care less about whom they bring into the facility. They bring in patients that require one on one care because they have altered mental status and try to do things on their own and end up falling. There is not enough nursing or cna staff to keep an eye on all the residents at anyone time and still do the jobs they are required to do for each and every patient assigned to them. Some days a nurse has up to 30 patients and the cna have 12. There is no one on one care to prevent someone from falling yet they hold the staff responsible if a patient tries to stand up from a wheel chair when they cannot walk and they fall. The staff gets yelled at for not watching this resident. Some of these residents suffer from sun downing and become loud and abusive which disturbs the peace of the other residents who complain that they cannot sleep because of all the screaming. I have also seen nursing asking cna's to assist residents and the cna's walking off saying it was not there patient. I have seen nursing spending their entire 8 hour shift giving out medications that they have no time to do anything else. If you have a family member in need of a home I would seriously think twice about this nursing home. They act like they care but they really don't.

I was maded to feel that the residents here are nothing but a number to them. My aunt stayed here for 3 days and it was a disaster. They sure know how to sell the place right when they want you to put your love one here but once here it is a nightmare

Very rude CNAs. Rather talk with each other about their days off. Than helping residents. They treat residents like inventory in a warehouse. Not humans.
